75 Years Later, Nursing’s Still the Love of Her Life
“I always wanted to be a nurse, and I’ve always been one,” says Kay Hodges, who finished nursing school just before the attack on Pearl Harbor.
You read that right.
At 97, New Jersey’s oldest licensed registered nurse also takes continuing education courses through the county department of health services and gives patient reports at the monthly board of health meeting. Hodges says of those who see her during office hours: “They talk about this little pain, that little pain. Maybe I can be of some help to them.”
