Increasing Access to Care: The APRN Consensus Model 2008 to 2015
January 5, 2016
2:00 PM - 3:00 PM ET
The Institute of Medicine’s first recommendation in the Future of Nursing report is to remove scope of practice barriers, in order to increase the public’s access to advanced practice registered nurses care. This webinar focuses on a key aspect of that recommendation: that state legislatures should conform to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Model Nursing Practice Act. Led by Maureen Cahill of NCSBN’s APRN Campaign for Consensus, the session covers the progress states have made in adopting uniform regulation of APRNs, as well as factors driving and preventing legislative action.
