National Nurses Week is celebrated annually from May 6 through May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale. Florence Nightingale is recognized as the founder of modern nursing. This year is the 200th birthday of Florence Nightingale declaring “The Year of the Nurse”. To recognize and support the nurses locally and abroad, Mayor Berke will be proclaiming May 6-12 Nurses Week in the City of Chattanooga.
