Four Cities, One Goal: Define a Culture of Health in Nebraska
Early this year, Nebraska produced Defining and Transforming a Culture of Health in Nebraska, a report that crystalizes the inspiration coming out of two-day meetings held at one time in four cities late last year. Coordinating the event were the Nebraska Action Coalition, the Nebraska Assembly of Nursing Deans and Directors, the Nebraska Nurses Association, and the Nebraska Organization of Nurse Leaders, who together wanted to envision the role that nurses could have in influencing the health of fellow Nebraskans. The 17-page analysis shows that participants went beyond talking about the problems to also discuss strategies and steps to take to meet community needs. It is also a blueprint for other states interested in organizing their own Summit.
