Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC) awards $17+ million in competitive institutional grants
On May 11, 2016 the Maryland Higher Education Commission awarded $17,565,478 in Competitive Institutional Grants through the Nurse Support Program II (NSP II). The NSP II Program is a unique grant program developed by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, the State’s postsecondary education coordinating board and funded through the Health Services Cost Review Commission, the board who regulate and set hospital rates in Maryland. The Nurse Support Program II’s purpose is to control healthcare costs and ensure availability of registered nurses through initiatives that increase the educational capacity of schools of nursing statewide. These awards support planning, implementation and continuation grants at 10 nursing programs across the State of Maryland.
