The Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action, in partnership with AARP’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Thought Leadership teams, is pleased to announce a series of virtual convenings with the goal of engaging a range of stakeholders, including consumer, business and health care organizations, on improving our nation’s health equity through a more diverse nursing work force. The Campaign is an initiative of AARP Foundation, AARP and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The Health Equity Action Forums bring together businesses, government officials, policy leaders, social justice and consumer organizations, health care providers and nurses with the following goals:
- Engage and activate a diverse range of stakeholders to support a more diverse nursing workforce as a means of advancing health equity;
- Demonstrate nursing as an effective career ladder for historically marginalized populations.
- Support the nursing profession’s efforts in building a diverse health equity-minded workforce.
