This webinar is part of the Mentoring Joint Learning Collaborative. The webinar featured the American Associations of Colleges of Nursing’s (AACN) new Essentials, which are used to delineate competency expectations for graduates of baccalaureate and graduate nursing programs. In addition, participants reviewed a video from AACN’s Diversity Symposium which discussed how the new essentials can be applied to the workforce’s effort of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This learning collaborative includes nursing faculty and deans from historically black colleagues and universities, Hispanic-serving institutions, American Indian/ Alaska Native schools of nursing, and the Campaign’s state-base Action Coalition leaders.

Key Objectives:

• Orient the schools of nursing on the new Essentials.
• Review the competency expectations in 10 domains that are central to nursing practice.
• Explore how to apply the Essentials to the workforce’s effort of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
