Better Together: Nurses Engaging in Interprofessional Team Collaboration and Leadership
On November 3 the Nebraska Action Coalition hosted its Collaborative Annual Leadership conference, “Better Together: Nurses Engaging in Interprofessional Team Collaboration and Leadership.” The conference objectives included:
- Integrate nursing and the interprofessional team roles to improve population health outcomes.
- Identify innovative strategies from specific models of interprofessional collaboration designed to improve health of populations in Nebraska.
- Discover leadership lessons shared by local CEOs in health care and business.
A capacity crowd of 110 nursing and academic leaders, business leaders, and consumers attended the event. Keynote speaker, Sharon Quinlan MS, MBA, RN of Aurora Health Milwaukee, incorporated the RWJF white paper (Catalysts for Change: Harnessing the Power of Nurses to Build Population Health in the 21st Century) into her keynote presentation Nursing Leadership in an Era of Population Health (from her article of the same title). Additional speakers included NE Action Coalition’s co-lead, StrategicHealthSolution’s CEO/President/Founder Peg Stessman BSN, MBA, RN on Women Entrepreneurship: Going Beyond Talking About Breaking the Glass Ceiling and national speaker Glenn Vetter CEO/President of Vetter Senior Living on Leadership Lessons…from an Old Guy!
